U.S.
Army Information Assurance Programs CAC/PKI Division — Learning Services
One
of our current US Army projects requires us to deliver e-learning
services to Army personnel located across the United States. In
March 2006, we conducted successful e-learning sessions for more
than 1,400 students during a two-week period.
In July 2005, Maden Technologies’ learning solutions team
was contracted on another Army project to deliver and facilitate
e-learning to a few hundred Army personnel worldwide. This collaborative
learning tool allowed the Army to train using a live instructor
via the Internet, commonly referred to as a Webinar.
Over the course of 18 business days, we conducted 70 Webinar sessions,
each 90 minutes in length. Each Webinar trained key personnel on
critical, highly technical processes of an organizational-wide security
system. Because of our successful performance, we have been asked
to deliver the next installment of web-based learning to begin in
the fall of 2006.
Participants selected a Webinar that fit their schedule and location
time (Europe, US, and Asia). They accessed the class using the Internet
and either conference call or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
technology. Across 276 locations, learning was completed in only
18 days! Had the learning been conducted using traditional methods
such as instructors within physical classrooms, the effort would
have taken 11 months.
Our Webinar solution, implemented in July 2005, required no travel
and minimal administrative costs, but still delivered a high-quality
learning solution in a fraction of the time and at a tremendous
cost savings.
