Physical
Security addresses the preservation and safeguarding of personnel,
facilities, property, and other operational assets to ensure availability
to support the organizational mission. The physical security process
includes determining vulnerabilities to known threats; applying
appropriate deterrent, control, and denial safeguarding techniques
and measures; and responding to changing conditions.
Guarding
High Value Assets. Our physical security experience is based
upon protection requirements for critical resources and sensitive
materials used in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency
(DARPA) Technology Integration Center (TIC) which we manage and
support. The TIC is a contractor-owned, contractor-operated (COCO)
facility with high-dollar value items and mission-critical support
conducted within its perimeter. Maden Technologies is responsible
for the physical security of the TIC. Our security staff has developed
a very effective, multi-layered access control procedure to safeguard
the TIC for visitor entry because we are protecting high-valued
Government assets and information. Individual laboratories containing
sensitive information or work environments are protected by state-of-the-art
intrusion detection systems accessible only by badged government,
badged contractors, or escorted visitors. The digital closed circuit
television system maintains constant surveillance of the facility,
and our staff at the lobby entrance monitors the CCTV system 7
X 24 X 365.
