Challenge

To support the development, integration, and maintenance of the Mortgage Backed Securities Information System (MBSIS) to assist GNMA in managing its entire investment portfolio.

Solution

Our staff delivered ADP services that included:

• Software Conversion/Downsizing Support. Assisted with the transition or conversion of MBSIS procedures, data, and archival files.
• System Administration and Communications Support. Supported the administration of the UNIX-RISC platforms and the local area networking requirements.
• Hardware/Software Procurement and Integration Services. Pre-acquisition testing and services to support the migration of the application systems that comprise the MBSIS.
• Software and Hardware Technical Support. Maintained software licenses and hardware support services through the various hardware and software vendors whose products were used in this environment.
• Computer Center Operations. Supported bureau processing services necessary for the operation and execution of GNMA’s Mortgage Backed Securities Information System (MBSIS). Supported computer operations on a 24-hour-per-day, seven-day-per-week basis. Specific services included computer operations, production control, and training.

Responsible for the day-to-day operations and systems maintenance of the MBSIS
processing environment, including:

• Assuring the system operated efficiently and was accessible to the MBSIS users 24 hours per day, seven days per week
• Developing, maintaining, and performing backup and restore procedures;
• Maintaining MBSIS system software at the newest and most stable version;
• Operations/help desk to assist MBSIS users to resolve system problems.
