Challenge

To redesign, integrate, deploy, and maintain the Postsecondary Education Institutional Data System—a national database system in support of the College Tuition Assistance and the Student Loan Program.

Solution

Our staff integrated a variety of manual and automated systems to create the Institutional Data System (IDS) to track post-secondary payments of college loans. The new system served as a common repository and management tool used by both the U.S. Government, banks, and other financial institutions involved in the College Tuition Assistance and Student Loan Programs nationwide.

 

IDS delivered, generated, and managed the mass mailings of letters and information to the educational institutions and State-Guaranteed Student Loan Agencies. The Department of Education implemented IDS to monitor, manage, and report to Congress the status of the Student Loan Defaults on a national and regional basis. As a result of this project, Maden Technologies expanded its software development capabilities for the financial services industry.
