The
Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA's) mission is
to develop imaginative, innovative, and often high-risk research
ideas offering a significant technological impact. These ideas often
go well beyond the normal evolutionary developmental approaches. The agency then pursues these ideas from the demonstration of technical
feasibility through the development of prototypes.
The agency used our Technology Integration Center to provide the capability
for interaction between diverse technology programs, support a
virtual work environment, and accommodate virtual demonstration
capabilities among the center, government laboratories, and the
academic, research, and development communities. Our Technology
Integration Center played a significant role in the planned multi-year
information integration demonstrations involving major agency programs.
